Desert Winds 2010 - Ultimate Las Vegas / Lake Mead Adventure Racing
This is the fourth edition of the vaunted Desert Winds 24. The 2010 edition will be
a 24 hour, non-stop adventure race in and around Lake Mead NRA somewhere
close to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Our Mission...
is to provide a creative race course to adventure athletes with the feel of an
expedition length race - that can be done in a weekend - with waterproof maps,
waterproof course books, accurate CP's (to date, we've never had a misplaced cp).
This is a Checkpoint Tracker Series Event... for CPT points
This is a USARA Regional Qualifier

Disciplines
Trekking, Swimming, Paddling, NO mountain bikes in 2010
Expect a wild adventure swim, a wild trek, and a big paddle.
Team Format
Teams of 3 or 4-Person COED or 3 or 4-person ALL FEMALE teams are the Primary Teams.
Solo, 2-person, and all male teams are welcome.
Except for the finish time, there are no cut-off times or dark zones. There are no mystery events.
There is one transition.
Support
Support is optional. You may bring a support team. You do not need to bring a support team.

This is a BYOB race (bring your own boat). Kayak rentals are available from Desert Adventures.

Don't worry, there will be plenty of ADVENTURE
without the bikes.

In order to receive points for any Checkpoint Tracker Event each team MUST have created a Team Profile...
and have added that Event to their Team Schedule BEFORE the official Start time as listed on the Event's Checkpoint Tracker profile.
You may have to turn down the volume to listen to the big tuna.
